*sniff* Meh. Headaches, sore throat and a slightly sniffy nose. Grrrreat. We've been fighting off germs all this week, Pete and I. Luckily, neither of us has developed the lurgy to the extent that we need to either spend a day in bed or propped up on the lounge with blankies and tissues. Man, that would be soooo annoying right now.

Im spending today cleaning the house, whilst Pete goes off to a LAN. Two loads of washing done so far, one off the line, about five more to go. So much easier to clean up when he's not around, but at least he did a fair bit of the dishes whilst I was out doing the last shopping, before I start back on full time work on Monday. God knows how Im going to cope with the idea that I can't just shop during the daytime to get stuff. I won't get home until after the shops close from now on. So it will be Thursday night or Saturday mornings from now on. Bring on seven day a week shopping, I say.

Got such a fright when I came home yesterday, after my Last Shift. Once I'd gotten out of the car, I realised that I could hear this frantic meowing noise nearby - it was Monty (eek!) trying to push himself underneath the gate to get to me!!! Our cat never ever goes outdoors, so I thought Robbed! Door Left Open! Window! Eeek! Threw down my stuff, went over to the gate, picked him up (purrrrpurrrpurrrrpurrrr) and took him inside as fast as I could. Poor baby! No doors were open, no windows...hmmm, what was going on? It wasn't until I opened the ensuite bathroom door, that I solved the mystery. The darn cat might have been in the bathroom, the wind might have blown through and sucked the door shut, frightening the cat, who leapt up onto the narrow shelf and then up the five centimetres of flywire open. Only to fall out. Hence, frightened kitty and time spent outside. Thank crap he didn't try to leave the back yard.

We went to an engagement party last night in Thornlie, for Pete's friend Guy and his fiance, Julie, who is a nurse. The funny thing was that another friend of Pete's and Guy's, Luigi, turned up as well - with Fiona Drielsma, who we knew from PUCS!!! Ha! Well, at least I had someone I knew to talk to. Good to catch up with her, because I haven't being going to the Elijah rehearsals. She's into cross-stitching - must keep that in mind, so that if I ever organise a big Stitch and Bitch event for girls, we can all bring our craft and booze along.

Turns out that Fi and Luigi have been dating for only six weeks. I met Luigi briefly, about 18 months ago, at a newsagents at the Galleria. Scored major bonus points with him, because I remembered his face, but didn't remember that he had been 'very overweight' at the time. Luigi is now the slimmest he's ever been - Pete was certainly freaked out at the amount of weight he'd lost. Nice guy, who is into Age of Mythology and other similar games, so we are going to have to set up some kind of LAN. (Funny side note: apparently, my ex-bf from hell, Rob, met Luigi the other night, but kept calling him Mario, which obviously shat Luigi orff. Bwah!)

Knitting Update

Nearly finished Ruza's oatmeal coloured, Rustica yarn scarf. I might do that tonight, actually, there's a couple of trashy films on the telly.
